We experience sound every day. But what is it? How do we hear? What are the mechanics? What are the properties of sound?
Join us in the BodyStage to discover how we hear the world around us. Understand sound perception and what may alter those perceptions. For this workshop, think vibrations, Doppler Effect, tympanic membrane, echo, frequency, Chladni Plate, cochlear implant, and more!
This workshop features demos and hands-on exploration. Plus, in the grand finale, experience a Rubens Tube, a visual representation of sound using flames. "The Sounds of Science" program also includes exploration of careers that are thanks to our ability to hear.
Science and technology topics include:
biology, anatomy, music, physics and careers
