Ages 10-12 Full Day Camps

2014 Summer Camp registration begins in February.

Cost: $205 members / $220 non-members per session
(Camps with field trips or extra supplies subject to additional costs listed in camp descriptions.)
* No camp on July 4. Reduced price for four-day camp: $165 members / $180 non-members.
Please check the website often. As camps fill up, additional sessions may be added.

Science Fun Days

June 2 – 6
Aug. 18 – 22 – SOLD OUT
Come for a day or make a week of it! Campers will play in the exhibits, see a live theater show or laser show, participate in a 1-hour science workshop, plus see an Omnimax movie.
$40 members / $45 non-members per day

Technology and imagination unite as you combine craft materials and robotic components to build and animate robotic creations. Using visual programming software and Hummingbird Robotics Kits, campers will engage in the artistic side of robotics

Robotics Engineering Challenge

Work with other future roboticists to solve real-world challenges using LEGO Education's newest EV3 software and technology. Face a new challenge each day, program a robot, then take command!

Minecraft Camp

Use the popular cubed world of Minecraft and examine the real science in the game. Spend time exploring and building in a cooperative 3D world where you mine for resources, then refine, combine, and use them to build amazing creations. Discover biomes, learn about geography, perform chemistry experiments, and more. Learn about 3D modeling and watch as we print our Minecraft creations on a 3D printer!

Invention Challenge

Learn about the design process, experiment with materials and machines, and then start building! You'll tackle a different design challenge each day as you try to create the next great invention.

Explore your passion for video games and game design as you learn basic game theory and put it to work. You'll become a master game designer for the week as you explore a steam-punk comic book world to learn new skills.

Explore Pittsburgh

Learn about our beautiful city through a series of activities and trips. Visit Heinz Field and the National Aviary as you take a look at the science of football and the power of flight. Explore outdoor ecology, put our city's environmental health to the test, and get your body moving as you kayak, bike, and hike!

Introduction to Robotics

June 30 – July 3 *
Can robots help clean your room and play basketball? Get up close with some binary beings in roboworld and learn about how they were designed and built. Using LEGO Education's newest EV3 software and technology build a robot and then take command. YOU are in control!

Awesome Astronomy

The sky's the limit to what you’ll discover as you travel to distant galaxies and beyond! Learn about deep space, black holes, dark matter, supernovas, stars, and planetary collisions. It's out of this world!

River Camp

Hoist your sail for science and explore life on Pittsburgh's three rivers. Examine the engineering of bridges, how pollution effects our rivers, water conservation, and more!

Kennywood Science

A long-time favorite! Explore the science of amusement parks as you discover the physics, momentum, and chemistry behind what makes them tick. Camp includes a field trip to Kennywood.

Science Mysteries

July 28 – Aug. 1
This camp is more than meets the eye. Campers will view our newest Omnimax movie, Mysteries of the Unseen World. Take an amazing journey into unseen worlds and hidden dimensions beyond our normal vision. Uncover the mysteries of things too fast, too slow, or too small to be seen without the help of science.
