Pittsburgh's skyline comes to life on Light-Up Night with brilliant colors and a spectacular fireworks display! Stay over at the Science Center to watch from the best spot in the city. Plus, avoid bumper-to-bumper traffic after the celebration. It's a win-win!

Polar Express Sleepover

Dec. 15

Embark on a magical adventure to the North Pole, and bring the whole family along to see the Polar Express on the BIGGEST screen in Pittsburgh. The evening includes an Omnimax movie, planetarium show, and science activity. It's a perfect way to warm your heart and add sparkle to the season.

Schedule
Check-in begins at 6 pm the evening of your sleepover, where you will receive a detailed schedule of the night’s happenings. The overnight experience will begin with a brief orientation, after which participants will enjoy a night of themed activities. Lights-out is at midnight. All sleepover gear must be removed from the building by 9:30 am, but you are welcome to stay the day after and explore even more with your general admission, included in your sleepover cost!

Fees
Fee for all sleepovers is $ 35 per person. Groups need to provide one adult chaperone for every eight children. Families or those not part of a group must also have a parent or guardian present.

Registration and confirmation
Call 412.237.1637 to register for any sleepover date. Our reservationist will take your information, discuss payment procedures, and mail out a confirmation packet. If you need to cancel your reservation, you MUST do so more than one week in advance.

T-shirts
A Sleepover T-shirt is the best souvenir to remember your special night at the Science Center. They will be on sale in the XPLOR Store the morning after your overnight experience.

Private Sleepovers
Groups of 100 or more can schedule a private sleepover for any day of the week (subject to building availability). We can help you plan a customized program that includes your choices of special activities that fit the theme of your trip, as well as your choice of an Omnimax film.
