DESCRIPTION: Carnegie Science Center serves nearly 10,000 visitors each year through Classes, Summer Camps, and Science Sleepovers. Carnegie Science Center is looking for a creative, hardworking, high-energy, fun loving educator who will share his/her knowledge and excitement of science with our Camps, Classes, and Overnighters programs.

Accountabilities include:

- Instruction and curriculum development of major revenue generating programs
- Working closely with the Camps, Classes, and Overnighters Education Coordinator to implement new programming
- Working as the lead coordinator for overnighters
- Working as the lead educator for camps, classes, and workshops
- Assisting the Camps, Classes, and Overnighters Education Coordinator during summer camp season

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 37.5 hours/week. Potential candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, have excellent customer service skills, be well organized, able to function effectively in a team environment, able to manage many projects at the same time, and able to manage a group of 12 to 30 students. Ideal candidate must have a passion for the values of first-hand engagement with science and experience developing science activities. A degree in education is required and experience developing science activities and working with children is required. During non-summer months, this position requires work during the weekend days and evenings. Reliable transportation is required for supply shopping, pickup, and drop-off.
