Carnegie Science Center is looking for enthusiastic problem solvers to join our customer service team. On a daily basis our lively, fun science center environment is filled with excited visitors. It's our job to make sure the experience for all of these eager guests is easy, smooth, exciting and problem-free. Our team is usually the first and last impression people get of the science center, and it's our team who helps our visitors solve any problems they might have.

We're looking for candidates who love working with all kinds of people, love to think on their feet and enjoy a challenge. If you like never being able to predict what your day might hold, then this might be the job for you. You might be jumping on buses and getting kids excited about their field trip. You might be entertaining people in line who are waiting to buy tickets. You might be creating the schedule of events that our visitors carry around with them…and so much more.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Oversee daily Carnegie Science Center functions, with a focus on top-notch customer service, detail-oriented daily planning and accurate building-wide communication.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Background in Customer Service field preferred. Must demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills. Must possess a strong interest in science; excellent customer service skills; and experience working in a dynamic environment. Must possess strong leadership skills and experience in conflict resolution. Ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to work effectively as part of multiple teams and effectively utilize his or her personality to affect a positive climate around them.

The following PA Act 153 clearances, or proof of application of clearances, are required prior to beginning employment and as a condition of continued employment:
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
• Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
• FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
