JOB TITLE: Part-Time Visitor Services Representative
DESCRIPTION: Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History are seeking outgoing and enthusiastic candidates for part-time visitor services representative positions. This position has a range of functions including, but not limited to: greeting visitors and groups; explaining and selling admission and memberships; providing answers and recommendations about exhibitions, special events and pre-registered classes/tours; conducting visitor surveys; and answering phones.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Potential candidates must have good verbal communication skills and be able to interact professionally and courteously with visitors in a variety of spaces within the museums. This position requires walking, lifting boxes and pushing carts. Hours will be limited to 25/week and candidates must be available both weekday and weekends during museum hours. Visitor services representatives are scheduled to work within the following timeframes: Sunday through Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm or 9 am to 8 pm, some evenings until 10 or 11 pm. Candidates with flexible schedules are preferred and those with experience in one or more of the following fields will be considered: customer service, retail, phone work, education, communication, museums. Some college is preferred, but not required.
