JOB TITLE: Occasional Program Presenter-STEM
LOCATION: Carnegie Science Center
DESCRIPTION: Carnegie Science Center is seeking presenters to conduct hands-on STEM activities, workshops, or theater demonstrations for school groups and general public during CSC's STEM Programs. This position is occasional. Opportunities are available on select dates throughout the year.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Prefer background in science, education, theater, or communications. Strong presentation and customer service skills.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to engage middle and high school students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) topics and hands-on experiences. No previous knowledge required. Must have ability to learn and communicate science content in both formal and informal presentations. Must be well organized, able to function effectively in a team environment, and able to manage groups of students of varied sizes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand for periods of time longer than 30 minutes. Ability to assist with set up and/or knockdown of program materials throughout the Science Center.
