JOB TITLE: Part-Time Outreach Presenter

DESCRIPTION: Do you want to be a dinosaur? Carnegie Museum of Natural History's Lifelong Learning department seeks part-time Outreach Presenters to join our dynamic team to deliver exciting dinosaur-themed theater shows and lead large-scale prehistoric workshops. The programs are delivered at various locations including schools, libraries, camps, and community festivals as well as inside of the museum. This position requires enthusiastic, energetic and charismatic individuals. Presenters will need to communicate basic natural history knowledge and be able to accurately answer questions from the audience, however no previous science knowledge is necessary. You must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license. You must be able to perform in large dinosaur puppet costumes weighing up to 50 pounds for up to an hour. You must also be able to lift, transport and assemble set materials in a variety of locations and under different conditions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Preference given to candidates with or working towards a BS or BA in theater, education or related fields, but others will be considered. Training and/or experience in theater, particularly children's theater; experience working with children; superior presentation and communication skills, including pronunciations, articulation, and pace; ability to thoroughly learn and present scientific information; reliability, flexibility and independent work style are all qualities of a preferred candidate.

The following PA Act 153 clearances, or proof of application of clearances, are required prior to beginning employment and as a condition of continued employment:
