Inquiry Adventure: Biology!

Bolster your biology curriculum with this standards-aligned package combining an immersive on-site experience plus a full week of lesson plans.

All students will see microscopic biological phenomena up-close with the film Mysteries of the Unseen World in our Rangos Omnimax Theater. A range of interactive experiences will deepen their understanding of biological principles and structures. You'll get pre-visit and post-visit classroom resources, a printed guide to follow step-by-step through your day, and personalized attention at every station.

And it's all geared according to the standards for your grade level!

Inquiry Adventure: Biology, Level 1 – Grades 4-6

  • Learn how anatomical knowledge guides the design of robots in roboworld.
  • Compare and contrast plant and animal cells in a hands-on microscope investigation.
  • See the show It's Alimentary, an interactive live demonstration show about the digestive process.

Inquiry Adventure: Biology, Level 2 – Grades 7-10

  • See a live demonstration show Scanning, Scopes, and Surgery featuring a real frog dissection.
  • Explore the organization of life from cells to organisms through hands-on microscope investigations.
  • Isolate and collect DNA samples from plants while learning how adaptive traits are passed on to the next generation.

PLUS, both levels will have opportunities to explore heart rate and lung capacity in special Highmark SportsWorks® exhibits.

We'll provide pre-visit and post-visit resources to ensure you and your students are prepared for the visit and to ensure that their new learning sticks.
