Dec. 6 – 7, 2017
10 am – 3 pm
Cost: $13 per student
Hour of Code is a global movement to give students a fun one-hour introduction to computer science. This new themed field trip, taking place during Computer Science Education Week, gives students in kindergarten through the fifth grade the opportunity to view the film Dream Big in the new Rangos Giant Cinema, participate in a grade-specific coding workshop, and explore Carnegie Science Center. The coding workshops will feature Bee-Bot robots, Sphero robotic balls, and Scratch programming. This is the ideal time to put the spotlight on computer science and expand opportunities for your students.
Register your group of 15 or more students for either date by emailing Heather Cain or calling 412.237.1673. Registration closes Friday, December 1. The $13 cost for each student includes admission, the giant-screen movie, and an Hour of Code workshop. Grant money might be available for schools that otherwise could not afford the trip.
