Science is a Party!
Yes, Science on the Road does special events and parties, too! For some spectacular science and fun rolled into one, try these celebrations that will make a bang (literally).
Family Science Nights
These ready-to-go packages are perfect for school carnivals or parent nights. Each theme includes 10 activity stations, which take kids and families about 45 minutes to complete. Choose Color and Light, Physics Fun, Colossal Chemistry, or Eyes on the Environment.
Fee: $400 for two hours of activities
Requirements: 15-20 adult volunteers to help facilitate the activities.
(Your Carnegie Science Center presenter will conduct a training workshop for volunteers 45 minutes
before your event begins.)
Science Make & Take
Great for festivals, carnivals, games, and other casual affairs—anytime you want unique activities to entertain the crowds. Everyone who visits our activity table gets to make something to take home! Choose from a variety of science activities like harmonicas, ultraviolet detecting rings, bubble-ariums, and liquid nitrogen activities. From toddlers to grown-ups, everyone will be talking about the fun they had—and what they learned!
Capacity: 50?100 people per hour (varies based on activity selection).
Fee: $150 for the first hour; $100 for each additional hour.
Achievement and birthday parties
You won't find a celebration like this anywhere else. It's a one-of-a-kind festival of fun when Carnegie Science Center comes to you with a party package: 45 minutes of interactive demonstrations and Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream made right in front of the crowd. Choose your birthday party or achievement party theme from the list below:
Chemistry made happy! Make play-dough, bubble cups, and experiment with tie-dye. For grades K–2.
Create your own candy treats while learning about changing states of matter. Make lollipops and gummy treats and experiment with chocolate molds. For grades 4–6.
Construct your own toys, and find out how they work. Make play-dough, slime, and bouncy balls.
For grades 3–5.
Science with a Sparkle
Compound science makes you glamorous! Mix up your own lip-gloss, sugar scrub, and body glitter.
For grades 3–5.
Graduate from wizard school with actual flying colors. Make sandy candy wands, shrinky dinks, and capture the dragon flip sticks. No muggles please! For grades 4–6.
Be a criminologist, and learn how real crimes are solved. Experiment with different types of fingerprinting and six mystery powders. For grades 4–6.
