Bouncing Back This Winter
Carnegie Science Center's highly popular Highmark SportsWorks® exhibition will reopen Saturday, December 19 in a new $5 million facility with new, exciting exhibits and some of the most popular activities from the past.
Explore three different exhibit areas focusing on the physics of sports, health and
sports nutrition, and sports challenges. Learn about the transfer of energy as you bounce on the new You-Yo, healthy lifestyles as you challenge friends and family on Chomp!, a multi-player video game where you will chase down a healthy diet, and more. An old favorite made new, you won't want to miss it.

Highmark SportsWorks® Activities and Exhibits
The new Highmark SportsWorks® will feature three themed areas: Physics of Sports, LifeWorks, and Sports Challenge, each with specific educational experiences. Here are just a few of the approximately 30 exhibits that will be part of the new Highmark SportsWorks®.
Physics of Sports - Interactive, full-body sports activities exploring the basic science and technology of sports: balance, trajectory, center of gravity, momentum, and more.
- Big Hockey- This experience tests reaction time and motor skills on the worlds largest bubble hockey table.
- Bounce!- (Currently available in the Science Centers Sports Atrium)
Visitors put physics to work as they flip, spin, and bounce 20 feet into the air on a bungee-harnessed trampoline.
LifeWorks - The latest science and information on the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle presented through fun, interactive exhibits.

Sports Injuries OPERATION-
The 10 most common sports injuries are represented in this oversized OPERATION game.

MedTech iWall- The inner workings of the human body are explored through x-ray, CT, and MRI scans with this innovative touch-screen technology.

BodyCam- This amazing simulator takes visitors on a virtual journey through the human body to observe cutting-edge surgical techniques.
Sports Challenge - Visitors test themselves as they pitch, climb, run, jump, and balance through these challenging experiences. They learn about techniques to improve their performance and then try it again!

Race a virtual Olympic sprinter down a full-size 10-meter track.
