Chain Reaction Contraption Contest December 10, 2010 at Carnegie Science Center
Investigate engineering by participating in a spirited competition challenging high school students to create a contraption that accomplishes a task using a series of steps. This year's task is to make change for a dollar in 20 steps or more. Under the guidance of engineer mentors and teacher sponsors, teams submit preliminary design drawings and progress photos that show the contraption’s evolution. Judges evaluate the projects based on functionality, complexity, and creativity in achieving the task. All students in grades 9-12 are invited to participate.
