A leader in science and technology education, Carnegie Science Center attracts more than 600,000 visitors each year and is one of the top science centers in the country.
Opening its doors to the public in October 1991, the Science Center inspires curiosity and connects science and technology to everyday life through fun for everyone.
The Science Center is located along the Ohio River on the North Shore with spectacular views of the downtown area and Mount Washington. It's approximately 370,000 sq. ft. with 94,000 sq. ft. devoted to exhibition and programming space.

Carnegie Science Center is the resource to learn more about science, math and technology initiatives for educators, students and families in our Tri-State area. Last year, the Science Center hosted over 121,000 school group visitors. Nearly 8,000 students attend year-round camps and classes, and hosted 9,500 people of all ages for sleepover adventures.
The Science Center also travels. Science on the Road reaches 242,000 students each school year, trekking to out-of-state places like West Virginia, Ohio, New York, Michigan and Maryland.
The Science Center also partners with local organizations to encourage economic and educational development. Innovative programming like Access Science offers under-served youth and families a chance to discover everything the Science Center has to offer through discounted fees. It reaches the under-served not just in Pittsburgh, but West Virginia, Ohio and parts of New York.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Carnegie Science Center offers programs across the educational spectrum, whether it's for young entrepreneurs, budding scientists, creative preschoolers, at-risk teens, first-time and tenured educators or summertime kids.
Carnegie Science Center is fully accessible to persons with disabilities; the submarine requires full mobility and assistive listening systems are available for the Omnimax. There's PAT bus service and parking is free.
