Our annual National Chemistry Week celebration features scientists from the Pittsburgh area as they demonstrate amazing real-world chemistry, right before your eyes! This year's theme is “Chemistry – It’s Elemental!” Participate in tons of hands-on activities, and meet real local scientists whose jobs are to mix up some crazy chemistry every day! ChemFest 2009 activities include: shrinky dinks with Carnegie Mellon University 's Department of Chemical Engineering; GAK and glow-in-the-dark cookies with CMU's Department of Chemistry; superballs with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers; and chemistry carnival games with PPG Industries.
