Hands-on activity stations are designed and presented by Cal U students who are currently majoring in meteorology, geology, geographic information systems, mathematics, and education. Cal U students also recruit volunteers from Ohio University to assist at the event.

Visitors will learn how to make rocks, lava lamps, rains sticks, and "glurch," a substance that has both solid and liquid properties. Other StormFest favorites include a tornado in a jar, a raindrop experiment, and tutorials on how to make your own weather map, pinwheel, or even a thermometer.
