Campaign Priorities and Leadership

Today, motivating and preparing young people to participate in the 21st century workplace—creating that all-important spark—is one of the most critical challenges facing our region, and our country. Carnegie Science Center is leading the way.

Led energetically and with great vision by co-directors Ron Baillie and Ann Metzger, the Science Center is the region’s town hall for science and technology learning. Known as a place where people of all ages and backgrounds gather to actively explore their world, the Science Center has also emerged as a nationally recognized leader in STEM education programs that give our young people the confidence to see themselves in a future bright with so many possibilities.

SPARK! A Campaign for Carnegie Science Center is our opportunity to re-invest in the Science Center, one of the region’s most beloved and popular attractions, which serves more than 700,000 people a year—families, out-of-town visitors, and school children by the bus loads. Most importantly, it is an investment in the future of this region. With the support of so many individuals, corporations, and foundations, we can as a community empower even more of our young people to be the innovators and technology professionals of tomorrow, while we continue to inspire citizens of all ages to meaningfully consider the science that’s all around them.
